With all due respect, that is not factually correct. The IGs report to three bodies of oversight, including congress. The only legitimate concern one might have about expanding the policing powers of IGs is adequate training.

Furthermore, these are government overseers, with almost no power to police non government workers. Expanding their duties has nothing to do with a "police state".
