It isn't all about price.

No it isn't.

They managed to find every little niche that Walmart doesn't do well and exploit it.

That was my exact argument.

For the ones that don’t survive – good riddance. Many businesses are poorly run and will not survive exogenous shocks. I’m not sure why anyone sees this as a bad outcome of capitalism. As consumers, we get low prices and niche markets served.
