My preferred resolution, personally, would be for all religious paraphernalia to be relegated to quaint remnants of less sophisticated times, suitable for history books, museums, family scrapbooks, attics, and perhaps periodic retro fashion trends. My preferred resolution couldn't be accomplished in my lifetime or without horrendous upheaval, if at all. So, as a trained problem solver and good citizen, I'm looking for some middle ground. Quit fussing at me for not being sufficiently orthodox. <g> If there were a "deal" effected along the lines I described and "they" recognized that "we" considered such stuff strictly ceremonial and left us to our delusions as we left them to theirs, I don't see how you could object.
