<<<The deficit is important(it has to be covered at some time), the consumer debt is important(it has to be paid back at some time), and the price of energy is important(industry depends on it). Bush is ignoring the first two and trying to control the third.>>>
I consider the financial world to be an undecipherable shambles.Greenspan and the Feds have done their best, still could not seem to affect it much. All the deriatives, options, forward selling of energy contracts, bundled mortgages.Beyond undestanding.
Fixes had little effect, but there was something could be done about the threat of increased oil prices, so thats
where the Administration went to work.

They had to let the housing and auto market roll, providing cheap loans and jobs.May be getting a bubble in the
housing and credit . Worrysome, but the argument would be that its a 30 year loan, and will be paid off with cheaper dollars. And if things go against us( the economy) , the banks could do something about it, such as refinancing with longer loans or permitting delayed payments.
. But it was not GWB that caused the problem, if thats what it comes to. It was a way of living developed over the years as a result of the first credit card issued.

Perhaps not FDAG matters, but I consider most of our Foreign policy revolves around money matters,
Like the Turks turning down a $25 bil offer, a $30 mm payment to the locator of Saddams sons.A promise by France to veto to save their Iraq oil contracts. And now the discussion of war costs.
