I haven't provided a rationale. I thought my role in this discussion was poster girl for the non-religious. I was doing my job by telling you what I would do. Assuming that you take me at my word, then there is at least one non-religious person, me, for whom the fear of hell would be superfluous in every oath-related situation I can imagine. It is unlikely that I am alone among the non-religious in the universe. It would logically follow also that there are religious people whose ethical standards alone would be enough. It all seems logical and reasonable to me. I have no rationale, though, only anecdotal evidence extended by reasonable assumptions.

That was my job as I understood it and I did it. If you want something different from my, please clarify.
