automatically reset the zonealarm intrusion counters....

while we're waiting for zonelabs to integrate this step into their next upgrade, the process can be automated somewhat by creating a regedit file.

********************************

"You can also make a regedit file that you could use to assist in this task. Create a file in Notepad named something like ZA-Count-Reset.reg, and paste these lines into it...

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm]
"BlockCount"=dword:00000000
"HackCount"=dword:00000000

Merge this file into the registry anytime you want to reset the counts to zero. Note that ZA must be restarted for these new numbers to take effect."

********************************

i haven't tried this one yet, tc. my counters are very low due to the router, so i am not getting the multitude of hits i am seeing others get.

i also keep my inbound and outbound router logs turned off. i care as much about reading them as i do for the firewall logs.

[credit goes to LowWaterMark on the wilders.org forums for these reset instructions]
