The thought that scared me into getting out of AUD was the move of Gold. Finally Gold is moving up on its own without any help from stock market declines, currency moves or catastrophic incidents of any kind.

At the same time, the savers of the world the China, India, Taiwan, Singapore, Brazil of the world are seeeing their currencies relentlessly strengthening or reserves increasing or both.

These two observations lead me to believe that maybe, maybe the savers of the world are just taking back their money to their own homes and abandoning USD, AUD, EUR. And the rest is just spec positions around the world getting clobbered in the various trades they had. Yes USD has a huge Current Account deficit but so does AUD. USD also has a huge budget deficit but then they also have an army at the gates of Saudi Arabia & Kuwait.

I am beginning to wonder if the only real action going forward will be in the savers of the world and in gold and commodities which the savers will buy.

Just some thoughts
