Scott,

I hate the money game. It's so distracting from talking about the issues. In the case of the Clark campaign, I've seen figures as high as $1.7 MM in print tonight. But this is all hypothetical money, since it merely a pledge for future contribution should Clark decide to enter the fray.

I see too much similarity between Clark and the bete noir of California politics, the deceptive Viennese brat-worst. Both act coy in advance of their campaigns. Both have phenomenal media coverage. Both are telegenic. Both are accomplished in fields that simply do not qualify men to be effective statesmen. And apparently both are being foisted on America by hidden forces beyond public discourse.

The fawning adulation that Terry MacAuliffe gave to Clark this week tells me one thing. The fix is in. And Clark is the designated outside matroshka doll. Who is really running Clark? Do you know? Who got him that great gig on CNN? Who got him his cushy job at Stephans & Co., the sleazy investment bank that turned Hillary's $1,000 "investment" into $100,000 of hog belly futures, or calves, so many years ago.

Who is running Clark? It isn't the "people". And what is their agenda?

Recall that one of the greatest destructive acts by any recent President to the well-being of Americans was Bill Clinton's enthusiastic endorsement of NAFTA and WTO. You do know the drill, right? NAFTA: We're here to shaftya!

What kind of a Trojan Horse is Wesley Clark going to turn out to be? How can he help sell out America like every President we've had for the last 23 years?
