Morally there is nothing wrong with chrysotile. It's another scare story. Really, SIO2 is just as bad, (50 new cases per year of silicosis at Wabush) -- and that can be solved with personal ventilation, Racal - (airstream helmet) - style. Canada is just dragging its nuckles on the subject. It is a fact that we inhale about 22,000 asbestos fibres a day no matter where we live, (source, USGS) from natural sources, and it does not seem to contribute to mesothelioma a whit. Chrysotile sealed cement, contributing not one fibre per cubic metre per day of asbestos, would have ensured that most of the 9-11 victims reached safety on that fateful day. It would have held the melting beams' integrity that much longer. It sure worked at the Empire State, 55 years before in a similar accident and fire. (not quite the same scale, but a hot fire nonetheless.) What got me on the topic? A post ahead. I am a vulture when it comes to SA golds. Christmas tree lights. Has to be good for the metal price. They still off about 250 workers every 6 months in those mines. Tough racket. EC<:-}
