thank you Dennis. I will check it out. it seems that having a router in line is a cheap way to gain protection. kinda like an internet condom. larry

With all this talk about routers...

I may be interested to connect two computers: a WinME home desktop and Win2K work laptop. I would not want to tweak the laptop network settings too much, since it also connects to corporate net at work. So, should I connect the two directly by cable, should I get a router/switch? I use dial-up and have no wireless connections, so I don't need router for these jobs.
