All evidence points to simple power and profiteering as the driving force of the current crew. The philosophising and ivory-tower declarations are the same as right/left liberal/conserative meanderings, simply pleasant fluff while the looting goes on. Following the money shows money goes into the pockets of "think tanks" and neocon publications and pundits every time the military budget goes up. The claim of some sort of ideological consistency (other than the growth of fascism and looting of Americans) has become a mindless joke, which has to be more and more "nuanced" as hypocracies abound, death tolls mount, liberties are destroyed, and the health of the Republic sickened.
