OK, great, so Wesley Clark won't get us into another Iraq, or if he does, he'll make sure we have adequate allies and resources to do the job.

But the current Administration isn't going to do another Iraq-type invasion either, because our entire army is already committed. The original Administration plan, I think, was to rapidly reduce our garrison force in Iraq to 40,000, so that, by election-time, they would be doing the next invasion, probably of Iran (in support of the mass popular uprising against the clerics, which was also supposed to be occurring by now). Clearly, the world is diverging from their dream-scenario; there will be no more invasions, by either a Clark or Bush Administration. The practical difference between them, is nil.

The relevant question is: what is the difference, between what President Clark and President Bush would do, in Iraq? On present evidence, there isn't much daylight between them. Both seem to want to simply throw more troops and money at the problem. Typical Big Government Social Engineering Democratic solution (with BorrowAndSpend replacing TaxAndSpend). That is exactly the mind-set that failed in Vietnam (and gave us a decade of stagflation).

Scott,
I am with you and i love dissention within the ranks of the left. Jacob wants to cut and run. Marcos wants apologies and he will rush to iraq to take over the community of nations he and his friend are setting up. And you want Wesley Clark to kick some butt over in iraq. One vote for dean, one vote for kucinich and one vote for clark. In the end that will yield two votes for nader. Cool Beans. No defeat. No surrender. MIke

Wesley Clark believes in working effectively with Allies to solve problems and using force as a last resort.

Do you think he will actually run? Many think he is not well known enough to be the lead on a ticket.
