I am sorry but that is a very naive, condescending, and flawed view of what a person who believes in eternity experiences in this life.

Jewel, I was merely reporting what was said in the documentary. The rationale given for parents rejecting or hectoring their homosexual children to death was that they believed that it was more important to use whatever means necessary to get their kids to repent so they could get to heaven, that the familial relationship during this life was of secondary importance.

Personally, I can't relate to that at all so I have no attitude, naive, condescending, flawed, or otherwise, about it. I only said that I can follow the logic. I have always struggled to understand how parents could be so beastly to their kids, however disappointed they were in them. Now I have a rational explanation and the loose end is no longer loose. I AM a "J" you may recall. <g>
