Elmat. Some very good questions and, as I live in the UK and familiar with aspects of the subject material, I believe I can answer them accurately.

<<Bring the Indians to the UK. Fire the locals>>

What for? We already have lots of them here already. They are actually (some being 2nd generation) already well integrated into our society. My grocer comes from India. He is called Steve and speaks with a strong Scottish accent. More come both legally and illegally every year, from lots of countries. Tons coming from Iraq and Iran at the moment.

1)Was it due to the sole reason of cheaper manpower or India has an additional advantage beyond been cheaper

Labour is cheaper there. The standard of living is also different. I have covered this subject before.

I would say the service from some one local, who knows the area and the customs, gives naturally a much better service typically.

2) Is an India manned call center disrupting some funny business that might be going on in the UK? Such as people using the systme to continue in the unemployment to get free lunch? OR Jobs being funneled to friends instead of the general public?

There is "funny business" (corruption) everywhere. That includes India. You have to free your mind and keep it open at all times. At the moment in the UK lots of people are being conned into real stupid ways of thinking.

Yes some of the time it is "who you know" not "what you know". In India and UK. The job is gone before the advert is placed. All the messing about with CV's and interviews and such is just to placate the law. The point to remember is everyone can play that game.

3) Are te Indians more professional, thus more helpful, than locals doing the same job?

Apart from the differences mentioned, I can say all are doing the job as best they can. With a bit of work I guess we could get them all performing exactly the same.

Communists would just love that kind of equality. The ones left with all the money I suppose -ggg-
