Interesting item in the current New Yorker about the Fox/Franken imbroglio. Ben McGrath writes that Fox management had no desire to bring suit and rightly anticipated a PR debacle, but they went ahead as a sop to O'Reilly, who was storming around the offices demanding this be done. There is a chapter in Franken's book titled Bill O'Reilly: Lying, Splotchy Bully. Amazing that O'Reilly carries that kind of weight.
