Which party do you think is likely to use these terms against the other? ___________ want to starve the elderly. ___________ want to starve children. ___________ are warmongerers ___________ want to poison the air __________ want to posion the water. ___________ are racist. ___________ want to burn down black churches. ___________ radio personalities were the cause of the OK city bombing ___________ are full of hate.

I think the examples you gave illustrates the anger on the part of the right that has been generated by the remarks found in Michael Cummings post to you. siliconinvestor.com Using the dragging death of James Byrd Jr. in a political commercial right before the 2000 election, which essentially accused GWB and republicans of condoning the murder of blacks....or any murder for that matter.......was the last straw. The far left has been using these kinds of tactics for a very long time, but what they failed to do is take into considerations that conservatives and republicans are people too. People who care about others, who have hopes and dreams and ideas........good ideas. That republicans want the best for the people of America, like prosperity and happiness, and that republicans want to advance the concept of democracy around the world. Instead, for years, they made us out to look like heartless, murdering, uncaring, soulless ogres.....which is patently false. Those of us on the right have finally started to fight back and come out on the defensive, and there isn't a damned thing the left can do about it but continue to spread lies like the ones found in Tomasky's article. Honestly now E, I really don't believe that most Americans on the left actually lap up every word guys like Tomasky write as if it were gospel any more than they lap up the word of conservative talk show hosts. But one thing is certain......and you can take this to the bank......ordinary republicans and conservatives have finally engaged themselves in the politics of the nation, and I don't believe there is any way of stopping them now. And BTW, Ann Coulter made an interesting argument about the subject of treason in her book. I think it would be educational if the subject could be discussed in depth, but alas I haven't found anyone on the left who has actually read the book let alone been willing or able to get past the subject of their indignation. And Lindy is absolutely right.........there are other threads where we can continue this conversation if you like, so this is my last post on the subject here. M
