COTS.. A quick calculation of open interest of 262k tells me it represents over 800 tons of gold..

Seems to me that if the longs stuck to their positions the shorts just might have a bit of trouble coming up with that amount of gold....

Apparently if you have unlimited credit you can just keep selling paper until the longs capitulate through force of numbers, but just maybe there are some heavyweights among those longs this time who are going to make the shorts show their hands!

It is certainly noteworthy.

I would be most curious as to whether anyone has historical COTS data going back to the late 70's, which was in my opinion the last gold bull market.
