You can say, often of a young girl, tht she is sweet an innocent. Non-legal usage. You can say of a person that he or she is guilty of rude behavior, which is obviously not a crime, so the term is not used in a legal context. But in a legal context, a person who is found not guilty of a specific crime is innocent of that crime. Period. You can say a person is guilty of murder. If they murdered someone then they are guilty even if they may not be convicted or even indicted. Tim
