Bush has one eye on the exit. He will cut and run. The only question is will he cut and run under the UN flag, or cut and run with a puppet Iraqi government. There is enormous pressure to go the U route, but it might be too late for that now. If he turns the killing over to the Iraqis themselves, he can distance himself from the bloodbath that is to come while controlling the oil and focusing on reelection.
