Apparently your meteor was heavy in copper content, hence the green to yellow appearance.

I'm really looking forward to the eventual commercial mining of the asteroid belt, there are huge chunks of base metals floating around of there for the picking...!!!

I seen a similar one Last night around 9pm Eastern time, it dropped due east and was surprised that it didn't appear to be moving as fast as most meteors I had seen before, it just dropped all glowing like you described, looking like a flare.
