Wait and see how cooperative France and Germany are. Putin indicated he would send troops in under US command. Have France or Germany indicated this level of support?

My guess is that Russia's actions with Iraq will continue to set the tone for France and Germany to follow. Putin may have had a hard time selling siding with the USA in liberating Iraq, but the door is now wide open for business in Iraq. The Iraqi oil reserves will generate tremendous revenues over the next 20 years.

Before business can begin in earnest though the beacon of light and hope will be brightened a bit to attract more Al Qaeda to their demise. No doubt Putin wants to be actively on the winning side of this battle. Russia may not need oil from the Mideast like the West, but they cannot afford to have a neighbor like Iraq become a safe haven for terrorists.
