A senior Beijing resident surnamed Wang said he was surprised at the results of a complaint he filed with the Beijing Morning Post on August 7, which attracted the attention of Liu Qi, secretary of Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the top Beijing Municipal cadre. What Mr Wang complained about a new path built especially for blind people with 12 zigzags in a 100-meter section, due to the curves of the street involved. @@An ideal path should be one in straight line with raised hard strips and round spots on the surface, which enables visually impaired people to walk safely in a crowded street. The issue was solved in less than two weeks and the section was"straightened" thanks to the intervention of Liu, who learned of the result in the paper the next day. ...
