I wonder how one becomes a spin doctor? Do they teach it in college? Can you actually get an actual degree in it? Most of the time when I read garbage I wonder whether the person who wrote it actually believed it. Most of the time I'm sure that they didn't, e.g., Protocols of the Elders of Zion, all the Nazi propaganda churned out showing Jews drinking the blood of Christian children. My opinion: bald faced liars and sleazy beyond belief. Then sometimes I run across stuff that makes me go hmmmm. I ran across what appears to be an enormously popular but not official Catholic website that blames the Freemasons for infiltrating the Catholic church to spread homosexuality and communism. My opinion: barking mad but probably well intentioned. Speaking of sleaze, barking madness, and spin, the NY Times has an interesting essay on How to Talk About Israel. Highly recommended. nytimes.com
