'"Regarding ZAP, do you allow persistent cookies?"' "no, i keep the cookies setting at medium, which allows persistent cookies. don't ask me why, i don't know what they hell they are. i thought all cookies were persistent."

Persistent cookies are ones from a site that stick like glue after the web browser is closed... don't know if I like that even if they're not spy cookies. I had my browser set to manually choose to accept or reject cookies and all the pop-up notices said they "may" be used to track usage (and who knows whatever else). Session cookies delete themselves automatically after you close the browser or leave the website. Unfortunately, some sites will not let you access them unless you allow cookies... such as PeopleSoft (used by many universities and colleges).

Thanks for the definitions updates. Got them all.

P.S. two more questions (VBG)
(1) Anyone know what Sonic Update Manager is for? It keeps trying to access my computer. I did a Google search, but couldn't really find anything except for a mention of BackUpMyPC which I use with my DAT tape backup. RegCleaner shows it in my startup programs.
"C:\Program Files \Common Files\Sonic\Update Manager\sgtray.exe" /r

(2) Anyone tried Roxio's GoBack 3 Deluxe on WIN 2000 Pro and willing to relate their experiences?
