Exactly Peter,

The fact that politicians will not let you drop out of the system continues to illuminate the fact that SS is a pyramid scheme destined to failure.

If it was an investment tool for retirement, it would not affect anyone but yourself if you elected to drop out.

Have you looked at any of the proposals that want to invest the SS trust fund in the markets, is there any way to achieve solvency through investment?

I've been putting 12.5K into that boondoggle for years, its hard to believe that prudent investing couldn't at least help with the mess, assuming it never gets overturned.

We also need to raise the retirement age to 70 asap.
