I am not sure, but if it is like the RF tags produced by Maxim then the chips are passive devices. They need to be in order to avoid the problem of running out of power if the merchandise sits on the shelves for to long. As a result RFMD might get some business from producing scanners but not for the chips themselves. There might be a one time blimp for the scanners as businesses ramp up over a 3 year period. After that business will dry up as the recurring revenue will be small.
