The assertion was that a certain act had taken place.

It was proven that the basis on which that assertion was made was a forgery. The US govt (Condi Rice) has admitted this.

The assertion that the false proposition should still be accorded credibility on the grounds that a negative can't be proven violates every rule of sane discourse.

If there is other evidence than the forgery that we should consider, can you think of a reason the administration should be withholding it from us?
