Everyone wants to lessen our dependence on the middle east for oil, yet on the other hand no one wants drilling in their backyard...

Would you want an oil pipe running through your backyard? I live in Louisiana, there are lots of pipelines down here. Sorry.........I wouldn't have brought it up had I known. maybe its time the US starts to cut back on its oil consumption. I agree, but we would still need lots more oil. Good........we agree on something. So, you think it's OK to have pipelines running through pristine deserts in the Middle East where Arabs live, but not in Alaska where Americans live, sounds kind of hypocritical to me, and maybe even racist. Not at all.........as an American, there is little to nothing I can do about the Saudi or Iraqi pipeline. I can do something about the ANWR.
