Crossy, I will go back and review Japan's history.

Regarding the Chinese revaluation issue, I want to clarify that I am not a proponent for revaluation. This problem is too complex for my simple mind, but as you now seem to agree, there is a problem that goes beyond perception.

It's hard to comment on all of the issues that you raise, but concentrating on China's right to set their currency valuation, exported products are subject to govt. subsidies and tarrifs controlling the price of imports and this intervention is in constant negotiation. Currency valuation is just an extension of these negotiations, wouldn't you agree?
