Would the American people, if they knew what was really being done and planned, tolerate this? They do, they do, and they do. They not only tolerate, they celebrate.

American people are like most people throughout time and places. When they are comfortable with the status quo, they tend to support the familiar and the habituated. Drifting with the current is normal. Those that question the status quo, typically have a very good and personal reason to do so; they have time to think, and are willing to struggle against the tide. A small number may be found in universities and a larger percentage in prisons.
