It is true that a person found not guilty gets to go free as though he were in fact innocent. But the intentional bias of the legal system implied by "innocent until PROVEN guilty" means guilty people will go free because of lack of proof. The idea od committing a "perfect crime" rests on that. If such a deed is possible, the perp would not be innocent; simply not guilty.
