When the JCS can casually plan the murder of Americans and a phony pretext for war and get away with it, the American people have been as castrated as old Smut there, and are fearful of their own shadows. I'm starting to divide people into two camps these days. One camp is of people like a top GOP lawyer in DC I met recently who said, incredibly, "even if Bush was involved in nefarious acts, it is worth it, look at what we've accomplished". These are the "ends justifies the means", under any circumstances, including murder on any scale. The JCS in the memo are in that camp, and so are you. The other camp is of people who think such things are unAmerican, criminal and even making such plans should be prosecuted. Most Americans are in this camp, and is why Poindexter's Death Pool met an untimely death, the same day it was publicized. Had the Bush administration taken the same attitude, "oh, well, you know they never really DID anything", impeachment proceedings would have started. Eventually, there will be prosecutions, since not everything will be kept secret, as that memo and Poindexter's episode shows. Our history is going to make the first camp look like Nero and his fires. Yes, indeed I get worked up of such detailed plans for the murder of Americans by our own JCS. Any red-blooded American would want to lynch these guys. The only thing saving them is that they are already dead. I am utterly amazed by anyone who accepts such criminal behavior by gov't officials. Its like finding out Tony Soprano planned to shoot his own guys, to start a war with the other mob. Even among criminals there's more honor than that.
