So Jim -- did you happen to catch "Joe Schmo" ? last night ? miami.com I thought it was pretty interesting, but then again I have little to compare it to since I'm not a "Survivor" fan. It seems like no one can figure out why he couldn't figure it out right away, but from the few reality shows I've seen, most of the "contestants" are aspiring TV personalities and are playing a role of some sort. MTV's Real World certainly became that way after about 4 seasons and on Joe Millionaire it was clear that some of the women were "semi-pro". I dunno ... I suspect the guy playing Joe Schmo might also be a performer. I mean, in the interview room (which he knows is taped and will be played on TV), he talks forever and says stuff that I find hard to believe any guy in his position would say. Also -- one of the "challenges" involves group contact with a pretty much naked porn star. When he is told he has to hold onto her right breast for as long as possible, he says "Thank God !". C'mon ! No way !! Especially when he keeps telling the viewers (3 or 4 times) he's hoping to score point with the ladies. And then, after about a minute, he fakes the actors out by being the first to let go. Also -- he caught on to the other contestants "personalities" too fast. Like maybe so that the audience could be clued into their personalities with in the 1st hour of the show ? One of the women is type-cast as the "Naive, God-fearing, 22 year old virgin". He knew she was a virgin almost right away. Is this the sort of information you give out to total strangers after one day ? Hmmmmmmmmmmm ........ lol Chris
