Where I come from, a 200% gain is a sell signal, which is probably why we're treading water here.

As far as how LSI stands with respect to its competition, it's hard to say, and I wish an industry insider could weigh in here. But I remember a few years back Lucent and IBM were mentioned as its main competitors, but LSI plays in so many different non-desktop spaces that they compete in some market with most of the semi-makers and depending on the product line, they do better or worse competition-wise. They seem to have big leads in re-writable DVD and some type of SCSI controller thingamabob. They also led in the DVD and digital camera spaces for awhile, but then they seemed to fade in cameras and come back to the pack in regular DVD. In storage they're a small player, but they seem to be growing there. In the videogame market, they seem to be hanging on to their SONY Playstation by a fingernail. If you look at their annual report, they manage to sell to a broad range of high profile OEMs, including IBM itself, which I take as a positive sign of their ability to compete. I think they're always susceptible to losing any part of their business, though, which is why the develpoment of Rapidchip is important. I think that helps their competitive position overall.

Where do you get a 200% gain? I think your off by a factor of 2.
