Ok, This is what I get. Someone check my math. :)

1998 2002
Tangible Book Value: $2.11 $4.87
Low Price: $5.39 $10.26
Low Price to Book Value: 2.6 2.1 Lower price to book
Current Ratio: 3.1 5.4
% Long Term Debt: 16.4% 6.7% Less debt
Cash: $575M $1285M
Common Equity: $3121M $8020M
Shares Outstanding 1,479M 1,647M (Common Equity/Tangible Book Value)
Cash per Share $0.39 $0.78
Low Price to Cash/share 13.8 13.5

The last item says AMAT made a lower low by my calculation. it makes sense as it was a more fearful bottom with the perfect storm of post 9/11 double dip fears, accounting scandals and Iraq War uncertainty.
