9/11 is as big as we make it. IMO it would have been better to put a braver face on it, and make it not such a big deal- while still putting together better home defense policies- but preferably ones that don't gut out civil liberties. 9/11 only changed everything because we say it did- words words words. There are many highly spectacular ways a small group of terrorists could cause a great deal of havoc. If we change our way of life because of them, who really is the winner? They are, imo. If you don't understand that, then there is little else I can say to you.

...we are dealing not with an occasional madman setting off a bomb here and there ... but with a well-managed large-scale enterprise capable of successfully executing large-scale events.

Of this there can be no doubt.

Kinda stretches credibility to believe that terrorists living in caves could have pulled it off.
