"Founded in AD762 by Abu Jafar al-Mansur, the second Abbasid caliph, the city of Baghdad was originally built on the west bank of the Tigris River." arab.net From what period do you think the artifacts in that big museum in Bagdad are? Many of them from well before Baghdad or anything else with a connection to Iraq existed. Tim
