The Bushie phony energy crisis was the second greatest scam every perpetrated on US consumers. The top one was the S+L debacle, also brought to us by GOP deregulators (with a few mostly Texas Dems along for the ride). If Jeffords hadn't switched parties, the energy gouging would have kept on going and going. Proof? One week after Jeffords switched parties the energy crisis mysteriously ended and we had a surplus of energy supplies, which Cheney had just told us that would be impossible without contructing hundreds of new power plants and refineries (which tax-payers would pay for, to companies like Halliburton and Bectel). I predict is Bush is re-elected, similar scams will occur on thre East Coast and then the Midwest. Greed knows no bounds.
