Personally, I have no particular objection to the UN being involved but to be frank, IMHO militarily it is very unlikely the UN will be of much help and may just get in the way. Its very difficult trying to oversee many different troops with different languages, cultures etc etc. I myself see the UN more as a humanitarian agency then a hard nosed military group capable of wiping out entrenched guerillas. However, I hope for the best as do we all. My first choice would have been to integrate existing American Forces on a 3:1 ratio with local Iraqi's giving them decent pay, promise of American Citizenship if they served 4 years, etc etc. I guess our leadership doesnt see it my way. jdn

I am hoping that with more guys on the ground, they will be able to get better control over the country and reduce the number of deaths.
