you made it sound originally like he dismissed H&S
your message lacked clarity, very vague
if I misunderstood, sorry about that

but here are your words
"He laughed and said Head & Shoulders is the oldest trick in the book and that you might like to use the Bollinger Bands since you have placed them on the graph."

so what if an old trick
a slider on the outside corner is also an old trick
it works 90% of the time
just what was your original point??????
I look to H&S patterns and Bull Triangles as very reliable
Bollinger Band is a useful device, but hardly contradicts any evident H&S pattern
his laughter indicated mockery and condescension

I am not saying the yen will bust north tomorrow
but I have been watching this for over a month, maybe more
the Japanese trade surplus versus USA is 2.5% of their GDP
BoJ is wasting an incredible amount of money

in Richebacher's words just last week to me...
"Japan is demonstrating itself as a truly mercantile economy, willing to destroy their currency and economy in order to perpetuate a disastrous trade gap within the USA"
