Ted, I don't agree.......its just acknowledging the reality. Now at least, illegals will have to learn the driving laws of CA whereas before their driving was as illegal as their residency status. If we're going to "acknowledge the reality," why not just open up our immigration to everyone? Why go through this roundabout nonsense of giving illegals driver's licenses under the guise of improving safety? It's only going to open the doors to more fraud, and the illegals won't be getting insurance anyway (because you can be sure insurance companies will check for legal residence). This is a clear case of politicians giving concessions to illegal aliens just to win minority votes. There is no justification whatsoever for this bill. Tenchusatsu
