Colleges should lose their tax exempt status. Corporate welfare is all it is. Make them for profit corporations and see how competitive tuitions become.

Funny there isn't more teeth gnashing about higher education price gouging. It's just outrageous how they have demanded and gotten rate increases in excess of inflation FOR DECADES. Primarily they get away with it because govm't subsidies support it. Middle class families are actually now WORSE OFF when it comes to paying tuition than they were BEFORE GOVERNMENT STARTED HELPING them.
