Vegas,
I heard about APLX asset disposal but didn't know about the specifics - thx for providing it. Now business analytics is a vast area..

I guess we have to "drill down" more.. you are right about APLX now being closer to Corvu.. What I want is not just a new product but RISING PRODUCT revenue and good valuations. Corvu does offer this and that was what attracted me to the stock.. let's see what Applix can crank out..

Again, a software stock can "run" these days even without the credentials I'm looking for - it can still be a good investment, software is a "hot" sector right now. But for me to take a position I want good value (PSR < 2) and a confirmation of an opportunity = rising product (!) sales. As we saw recently there are many software "runners" that only announce a new product.. There's always the danger to me that these companies might be "one day wonders". That's why I'm looking for additional clues.. Another reason is that my "home turf" as an investor is HARDWARE - networking gear, silicon, chip designers, chip equipment etc.. outside of my "domain" I like to add extra scrutiny..
