I am trying to eliminate a DDO from my system (Windows ME) and I'm unable to do it.

The story:

I use Drive Image to back up my hard drive to a slave on the same computer. My slave was running out of space so I changed to a larger drive. Drive Image will not work with my new drive because it sees the DDO and says it "is not running".
Since I don't believe I need the DDO I have been trying to eliminate it.

I have not been able to remove the DDO using software and procedure/advice provided by the drive makers (Seagate & Maxtor) or PowerQuest. Drive people said I needed to do a Zero Fill procedure first. I did so but still could not remove the DDO.
Now that I went through the Zero Fill procedure I can no longer backup using Drive Image to any of my drives (Drive Image would still work with my original slave until the Zero Fill).

I'm hoping there is some wise person out there that can lead me out of darkness!

John
