The big difference is that HP is in the consumer electronics space, not in network cap ex like LU. HP printers, printing cartridges, and PCs give them a very strong presence. HP has a research lab, Dell does not.

I think HP will try to morph into a company most akin to Sony. That is a tall order, but that would be the best use of the HP tradition of excellence. I don't know if they can succeed.
