Who says they "have to contribute in military man hours proportionately to what the U.S. has and will."???
You???

If you're the one who makes that a reality then you better start making some phone calls and appointments.

The absolute MESS that shrub created is a deficit position of his own making. There's absolutely NO leverage from that position.

"Catching up" doesn't enter into the equation at all.

Since shrub SHOULD HAVE approached the UN FROM THE BEGINNING with a less stupid effort, all the losses thus far incurred belong to him.
It was shrub who shirked responsibilty with his pseudo-macho bs and LIES that were used in an attempt to justify rushing into an unnecessary unilateral action.
If an invasion really was necessary, it certainly wasn't necessary at the time shrub declared it was. A REAL coalition guaranteeing proper WORLD support should have been the goal. THAT would have been the responsible thing to do.
Instead shrub FAILED to recognize the inevitable problems now seen in Iraq and in the budget and in the homes of US servicemen's families. These problems with his approach were stated OVER AND OVER well before the invasion while the neocons, their bootlickers and other assorted rwe types shouted down those who were warning about the stupidity of shrub.

Shirked their responsibilities? What are you talking about?
