>when the SOX is struggling, the NASDAQ many times has a hard time continuing its winning ways<

AMEN brudder!

Gap up tomorrow. 460 is key long term resistance for the SOX. If the SOX does not get through that resistance then a bit more consolidation is in order despite INTC's update.

Here are the updated results for the Group this week. The Group was up 3 percent, the SOX up 1 percent, and the NASDAQ up 3 percent. It's not as you would expect - MTSN, TER, FSII, BRKS, EGLS are at the top of the table with gains of 19, 13, 12, 10, and 9 percent respectively, while AMAT, NVLS, and KLAC were in the bottom 3 spots in the table with losses of 1, 2, and 3 percent respectively. I think I can safely say that those 3 in the last 3 places in the table has never occurred in the 7 years of weekly records I have kept on the Group. Just like playing KENO in Las Vegas, you never know what numbers to expect. AMAT, NVLS and KLAC lost $2.72 per share this week. If it hadn't been for TER gaining $2.28 this week, for only a net loss of $0.44, the SOX would have been down quite a bit more. But this is just a microcosm of what happens to the indices due to "good" news being disseminated or analyst upgrades published about a few stocks in the indices. All of this keeps the rally going.

Also, notice that AMAT, NVLS and KLAC were the only stocks in the Group that were down this week.
