France is under no pressure to change their position. They can sit back and wait, while we slip deeper and deeper into the quagmire.

On the other hand, Bush is under tremendous pressure. His approval is slipping, our budget is in shambles, our troops continue to be killed and maimed. We have not achieved any of our objectives in Iraq or Afghanistan save actually becoming ready targets for any fool with an RPG or an alarm clock and some TNT.

Time is NOT on Bush's side.

they abused their veto power in the U.N.

France didn't veto any resolution on Iraq. Junior's diplomatic skills couldn't raise a simple majority.
