Saddam was no proven threat to us last year, just a potential threat. He needed to be inspected with a real threat of force, that's all. Taking him out would be fine if we'd had a wider coalition, the UN and a post-war plan. But those three crucial elements, not to mention proof of his WMD's, were missing. Therefore, Bush made a huge mistake.
