interesting point, and logistics costs did mitigate a bunch of offshore manufacturing in the past, but that was an 80s story. The jobs being exported now are white collar professionals, so personnel depts, lawyers, IT and the like. You don't have to ship anything for these. We may want to enact some sort of legislation against companies that have HQs here and no jobs. Oracle for example is one of those. Oracle should move to india, we don't get any benefit from them anyway. Free up the local mindshare for a US company.
